Surviving Wayne
I find that it is a full time job surviving myself. I and my quirks and imperfections will be the fall of me. Thanks to God, my Creator, Protector, and Savior, survival is immanent.

There is a full moon out tonight! (actually 2 nights ago)
Saturday night, Paula and I were driving home from Katrina and Stephen's aparment in Rock Hill. We had watched JJ while they catered a wedding. Paula was driving and I was sitting in the passenger seat. It was about 8:30 or 9:00. I watched the moon... it was full.

As I gazed at the moon, another simple reminder of God's majesty and brilliance came to mind. Here is some science for you. If there was no moon, there would be no light (other than man made light) on the earth at night time. We would be able to see the stars, but they would not illumine anything for us to see.

When God created life as we know it day to day, he thought of everything. Firstly, the light that the moon puts off is reflected light from the sun. Secondly, if the moon was black, it would not reflect any light for us so God made the moon a light gray.

There is a lesson in this design just as there is in all of God's creation. All the natural light we have comes from the sun. All spiritual light come from the Son. The moon, even though it does not produce its own light, reflects the sun's light to light our way at night. We, as Christians, even though the light of life is not produced in us, reflect the light of Christ with our pure (grayish-white) way of living. If we were sinful, we would not reflect the light of Christ.

On a side note, I mooned a city bus when I was like 15. Even though there was a shine, it did not reflect the light of Christ. (That may have been an over-share!)

Paula and I both love this show. It is a remake of the 70's action television show. We haven't seen it in forever since the Writers Guild Strike. How sad!!

Listening

Harry Connick, JR

Harry Connick Jr's newest album, "Oh, My Nola" is full of music from New Orleans or written by artists from New Orleans. Since Paula and I lived in New Orleans, it is special to us. We actually got to see the concert for this album live. It was great. You have got to check this out!
